About the location: Sandy Bay – also known locally as Coney Beach – sits adjacent to Porthcawl’s Eastern Promenade. At nearly a mile long, the beach is popular with surfers, bathers and families with plenty of attractions for children. It is a wide, predominantly sandy beach which is a popular spot for swimming during the summer months and surfing all-year round. There is a small headland towards the east side of the beach where you will find rock pools which can be explored at low tide
