Llynfi Clean Energy Project Presentation

From 1951 to 1977, the site housed the Llynfi power station, a 120 MW coal plant. Following decommissioning in 1977, the site has remained vacant.

Last Energy's UK subsidiary plans to regenerate and bring the 14-acre site back into use by developing four PWR-20 units, our 20 MW PWR-20 micro modular nuclear power plants. We chose Llynfi because of its proximity to a large existing industrial base, which is in need of secure 24/7 clean power. Llynfi Clean Energy Project will support growth, revitalisation, and decarbonisation of local industry.

Our plans will contribute to the growth and decarbonisation of industry in South Wales, generating vital economic investment and job opportunities for the region by utilising local supply chains.
We are targeting 2027 to commission the first plant, following a successful planning and licensing process.

About the location: Mackworth Rd, Porthcawl CF36 5BT 01656 782432 The Hi Tide has a history dating back to 1947 when Giovanni opened a beach shop and a few wooden stalls selling teas for the beach. Since these small beginnings, the Hi-Tide has steadily grown to become the borough's top cabaret and function venue. The Harbour Lights bar is a sea-facing lounge with outstanding beach views and is traffic free. Ample seating both inside and on our sun deck, provides an ideal place to enjoy daily meals and drinks.
