Sandcastle Building Competition

Join us for our annual sandcastle building competition at Rest Bay Porthcawl to celebrate the end of the summer. This year you can also enjoy marshmallow firepits at sunset.

Wales is famous for its castles, and for one day only so is Rest Bay! Come and build your family fortress in the sand. Everyone welcome. Build for fun, or join the competition to try and win some seaside prizes. A fun-packed family day.

The aim is to fill the beach with sandcastles. Building equipment, accessories and decoration must be provided by the team themselves and prizes can be won!

To enter the competition, teams can pre-register online or register on the day from 3:30pm at the Beach Academy desk on the beach itself. Building starts at 4pm and finishes at 7pm.
Winners will be announced on the day at 7:30pm.
