Swallow’s Kiss – story and craft

Filled with light, love and birdsong, Swallow’s Kiss is a wonderfully uplifting story that explores the common threads that connect our communities, exploring new beginnings, friendship and belonging.

In the heart of a city, a girl called Blessing is living a new life with her Mama and her baby brother, far from the place she used to call home. Blessing has a cleft lip which she describes as a gift from the swallows, whose wings kissed her mouth when she was a baby, naming her “in a thousand sweet-songed tongues.”

Join Naz Syed to hear the story and create your very own paper wish bird, just like Blessing. Known as Newport’s ‘Bohemian Mary Poppins’, with her travelling workshops and suitcases spreading creativity and kindness, Naz is Director of Ziba Creative, a socially engaged visual artist and creative consultant. Working with others is a driving force of her practise, connecting people and their stories, wellbeing and building confidence through creativity.
